After the success of Miss Wanganui plans are coming together for the 2009 contest. On 29 March 2008 Michaella Luxton was crowned Miss Wanganui and Ashlee Burgess was crowned Miss Teen Wanganui at The Royal Wanganui Opera House. All contestants put on a great show which was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd. For me personally it was amazing to see how far each of these ladies had come while involved in the pageant. The self confidence these ladies gained was amazing and I am proud of them all.
We are now accepting applications for Miss Wanganui and Miss Teen Wanganui 2009. Returning an application is the first step in becoming part of this great opportunity.
This year rehearsals will begin in September, they will be every Tuesday from 6.00pm to 7.30pm and as the pageant gets closer rehearsals will also be introduced on Sundays from 2.00pm to 4.00pm. I will ensure that these rehearsals start and finish on time so that parents are not waiting wondering what time you will be released. At these rehearsals you will receive the following:
Dance training Deportment Interview Training Public Speaking Posture Correction Modelling Singing Drama through Dance
These rehearsals are going to benefit you greatly for the 2009 Pageant. They will ensure you are fully prepared and able to compete at your maximum capability. The earlier contestants enter, the more of an advantage they will have when it is time to be judged.
This year we will also be meeting with parents who are interested once a month. This is to ensure that they are aware of all that is going on. Parents need to know what is happening as they are also helping you to prepare for the big night.
